Accuracy Specification
In general the food industry requires a process temperature accuracy of +/- 1.0°C or better, and in order to achieve this, the thermometers used to measure these temperatures must have a greater accuracy, say +/- 0.5°C., or better.
On all our calibration certificates we give an accuracy specification for each thermometer.
Within the range -24 to 100°C the accuracy is specified at +/- 0.5°C. This includes the uncertainties.
We recommend that our customers specify the same accuracy +/- 0.5°C., in their Quality Manual. Even though the readings on your calibration certificate may show a better accuracy, it is always worth keeping that extra tolerance.
The measuring range and the calibrated range is given on the calibration certificate for each thermometer type.
The TGST3 has a range of -50 to 120°C and is calibrated for an operational range from -25 to 100°C.
The 'Between Pack' has a range from -25°C and is limited by the materials used, to a maximum of 40°C.
Stabilization
Our thermometers do not require stabilization. Use direct from office to cold store, a temperature difference of 40°C without any decrease in accuracy.
Product Technical Specification
Our standard probes have a cable length of 600mm, extra cable can be ordered @ €5 per meter.
The meter itself has a 14mm high 4 digit liquid crystal display or LCD. The liquid in the display will freeze below -5°C and turns black above 60°C, thus limiting the ambient range of the meter
body. In practice it is possible to use these hand held thermometers in freezers without effecting the accuracy before internal cooling takes place.
All the tubing used in the making of Sensor Tech probes is made from 316L food grade stainless steel.

Product details
With a permanently displayed temperature and long battery life (up to 10 years), these thermometers can be used in virtually any application, replacing Glass Mercury and Bimetal Dial Gauges etc., within the temperature ranges -50 to 120°C.
These thermometers are supplied with wall mounting brackets for mounting on the inside or outside chillers, freezers and process areas. Mounting on the outside of a freezer and wiring the probe through a 6mm hole in the wall gives a permanent display of temperature, removable for calibration.
The 6mm diameter stem TGS6 type thermometers have a range of BSPT fittings (1/2”, 1/4” and 1/8”) which allow them to be mounted on pipe lines and tanks, etc.
A 6mm diameter tube TGS62 (up to 2 meters in length) can be used to measure product in Storage Tanks, large Kettles and Bulk-Grain.
Bespoke designs
The tubing is available in ranges from 3 to 6mm diameter and up to 2 meters long. With Hand Held, Wall Mounted and Pipe Mounted options, this allows us to do a bit of a 'mix and match' to meet our customers designs.
The probes can be attached to the meter directly (stem type) or connected with a length of cable up to 15 meters long. This makes them very versatile and adaptable for use in all areas of food production. Use with Cookers, Chillers, Freezers, Loading Bays, Storage Tanks, Grain Stores, Pipe lines etc. We have designs that are suitable for all the food producing categories listed below.
